BCARS Meeting Minutes - May 1st, 2025
A meeting of the Bedford County Amateur Radio Society was called to order at 1930 hours at Bedford American Legion by President Zachary Pepple and a quorum was declared.
In attendance were (11):
Zach KC3KHK, Bernie W3DRW, Steve KC3DNB, Gary KC3HKZ, Kenny WB3JEK, Vince KD3AHS, Steve KA3UDR, Ellis KC3WMI, Steve KE3ZT, Jay K3SCM, Dale KC3NFD,
Meeting Minutes were presented by Zach KC3HKZ. Motion to approve was made by KA3UDR and seconded by WB3JEK.
Treasurer’s Report was presented by Steve KC3DNB. Steve discussed various checks received, checks issued and cash deposits. The ending balances are:

A motion to approve was made by WB3JEK, seconded by KA3UDR. Motion carried. The full treasurer’s report is on file.

Old Business
Bloody RUn Float Fest will be Saturday May 17th in Everett. Finish line is at the ball field behind Igloo. BCARS plans to gather at 7:30AM at Burger King in Bedford before heading to the field. Registration opens at 7AM, the race starts at 9AM. BCARS members need to assign positions and be in place by the time the race starts.
Repeater Updates The club discussed that repeater coverage of 490, has coverage decreased, can we get antenna higher?
Funding The county used to provide annual donations to support BCARS community service. Zach to check with Lloyd on the status of this.
VE Session and Workshop is May 10th.
BCARS Picnic We have reserved Merrit Pond for August 23rd.

Jeff Guyer (silent key) family has reached out about selling his equipment. List and pictures will be sent to KA3UDR to share with the group.
