BCARS Meeting Minutes - June 6th, 2024
A meeting of the Bedford County Amateur Radio Society was called to order at 1930 hours at Bedford American Legion by President Zachary Pepple and a quorum was declared.
In attendance were (8):
Zach KC3KHK, KC3VLQ, Louise, KE3ZT, KC3HKZ, W3DRW, KC3WMI, N2XRE
Meeting Minutes were presented by Zach KC3KHK. Motion to approve was made by N2XRE and seconded by KC3VLQ.
Treasurer’s Report was presented by Zach KC3KHK. Zach discussed various checks received, checks issued and cash deposits. The ending balances are:

A motion to approve was made by N2XRE, seconded by KC3VLQ. Motion carried. The full treasurer’s report is on file.
Old Business
No July meeting due to the holiday. BCARS will also hold a business meeting at Field Day in lieu of the July 4th meeting.
Zach, KC3KHK reports on the recognition award. One screw was missing the phillips cross in the head. Options are to make a hole and glue, use alternative larger screws, or brass nails. Option 1 is recommended. Also add a hole for the wire (one on each side for options).
Field Day w/ VE session - is June 22nd and 23rd. planning to attend: K3QNT, KC3KHK, maybe KC3VLQ, KC3HKZ (no radio), KE3ZT (no radio), W3DRW (radio), KC3WMI (maybe), N2XRE (bringing van). In question = WB3JEK, KB3DFZ, Food = chili KC3HKZ, donuts Sunday W3DRW, hotdogs KC3KHK, coleslaw potatoes salad case of water KE3ZT. Zach will email group with food above and ask for additional items including drinks. If we can get the tower, setup will be 5PM on Friday the 21st. Regular setup will be Saturday the 22nd from 10am-11am. The contest starts at 2PM.
Picnic reminder = August 17 at Merritt’s Pond, with Zach to email group for headcount for food
